How Wet Roads Impact Your Vehicle Control Capabilities
When driving in the rain, it is important to be extremely careful in order to keep you and everyone else you’re sharing the road with safe. Accidents can happen at any given time and it is best to always be on alert to make sure that should an accident happen while you are driving, damages and injury are kept at a minimum. When the roads are wet and slick, it is very easy to make the wrong move and end up in an unfavorable situation. We roads are far more dangerous to drive on than dry roads.
Wet roads are slick and even the best tires have trouble gripping the pavement when there is water in the mix. This means that the slightest turn you make could go wrong if you are not careful. Even braking can be difficult on wet roads for the exact same reason. Your tires are designed with traction for gripping reasons and water acts as a lubricant between your wheels and the pavement, essentially rendering that traction almost useless.
Remember to use extreme caution in the rain at all times. Brake earlier than you normally would and lay off of the accelerator if you drive over a puddle.
